Dr Shanmukarajah: It is a very diffult situation and we couldnt operate the hospital. This attack hapened while we now have more than 750 patients and due to this we couldnt do treatment for the patients. Now we are receiving more patients from outside also. More than 10 people died due to lack of medical facilities.

Question : Does all the 47 people killed were inpatient of the hospital

Dr Shanmukarajah : No 25 people were in patients and rest were their helpers and hospital staff. Also shells are hitting the surrounding area. We have alredy notified about this shell attack to ICRC, UN and Sri Lankan Health Ministry. Our Administrative Officer worked tirelessly in this area and Maaththalan make-shift hospital. His name is K.Tharmakulasingham
